[AG-TECH] DVTS on Linux

I am working to find a cross-platform DV solution for the AccessGrid.  Until enhanced vic is improved on windows, we are using DVTS.  Currently, we use Sangwoo Han's ExtendedVideo services for AG (DVTS on the back-end).

I have been experimenting with DVTS on linux and its orphaned package: xdvshow.  After compiling and testing several versions of xdvshow and gldvshow, I finally found a version that works with our Linux 2.6.20 kernel on i686 (AMD Opterons).  The version was taken from an unadvertised telechacha (conferencing suite) repository (https://svn.sat.qc.ca/xdvshow/).

What would it take to create a ExtendedVideoConsumer package for linux using this working version of xdvshow?  The syntax of the command is simple: ./xdvshow -4 -j 233.2.171.59 -P 64225

Sending DVTS streams in linux seems equally simple (using dvsend, part of the maintained DVTS software).

Are there other cross-platform solutions I've overlooked (besides enhanced vic and DVTS)?  How difficult would it be to integrate xdvshow and the dvts utilities into a linux service compatible with Sangwoo's Windows-based ExtendedVideo services?

Thanks,
