Tom,
Actually the problem is the window for the venue has been exited, so it's not minimized and part of that "other" problem of not being active. Clicking on the Venue Client button in the Python window does pop up the original "AG starting" splash screen but no new Venue Client appears. It seems I have to exit AG altogether to get it back.

Oh, I see I left that point unaddressed. If the VenueClient is minimized, you can restore it by clicking on the icon on the right portion fo the dock. If the VenueClient is not minimized, the other solution should fix the problem for you. If I've misunderstood your situation, let me know.

Sometimes when you click on an app window it just doesn't become the active app represented in the menubar. Clicking on some other app and then on the dock icon for the app you want often helps. Also, if the Venue Client window itself is minimized, it may never be raised by switching to it.
