FATCOP Opportunistic Mixed Integer Programming Solver. Qun Chen, Michael Ferris and Jeff Linderoth FATCOP is a mixed integer programming solver written for a metacomputing environment. Mixed integer programs arise in many practical applications, particularly those dealing with scheduling and design. FATCOP uses many state-of-the-art solution techniques, such as preprocessing, pseudocosts, and cutting planes to aid its search for the optimal solution. The metacomputing implementation was done using the MW software framework. The combination of sophisticated algorithmic techniques and the powerul computing platform of metacomputing results in an extremely powerful mixed integher programming solver.
