The purpose of the Voyager Multimedia Server is to archive and present data. Voyager is approaching 10 years of active development and use. It has provided significant experience in designing, building, deploying, and maintaining streaming multimedia software.

June 27, 2002 : Voyager 1.0 Released!

The Voyager 1.0 Release is available from the new Voyager web site. This release is long over due, and the 1.0 source tree is dusty at best. We are currently working on a 2.0 plan that will revamp the current implementation so that we can enable more community involvement. Feel free to join the voyager mailing lists to jump in and help!

June 27, 2002 : Development Update

Until now Voyager has supported only RTP encapsulated data. This has allowed streaming video, audio, and CAVE™ tracking data to be archived and played back. Recently new requirements have been introduced that mean Voyager will be extended to support non-streaming data, tighter adherence to some client standards, and integration with Grid Services.
